Allison’s 40th — A White Party With a Disco Heart
One rule — wear white — plus a disco streak. Allison’s 40th filled a private home and its lawn on July 17, 2021: pool, red barn, food truck, and a dance floor that turned out to be the patio.
The House and the Lawn
The day starts indoors — kitchen island, pendant lights, the bar in motion — then moves outside for good: lawn games territory, a swimming pool, a red barn, blue umbrellas, a tent, and an orange food truck with a trailer serving the party.
The Dress Code
All white, everywhere, with Allison at the center in a one-shoulder white dress and a gold “40” necklace. Silver DISCO balloons and gold 40 decor set the theme; the guests supplied the costumes — a captain’s uniform, an afro wig, angel wings, and rhinestone sunglasses all made the gallery.
After Dark
The middle of the set belongs to the group portraits — big lawn lineups, everyone in white. Then night falls and the format changes: conga-line dancing on the patio, guests dancing by the pool, and a gallery that ends mid-song rather than on a posed finale.
Milestone parties deserve a photographer who shoots the energy, not just the lineup. Sunny Singh Photography photographs birthdays and celebrations across the Philadelphia area.
