Nana & Jeff — A Civil Ceremony and Columned Portraits in Washington, DC
An office, a register, and a signature — then columns, a fountain, and a red vintage car. Nana and Jeff’s April wedding in Washington, DC split the difference between intimate and grand, and it worked beautifully.

The Signing
The civil ceremony took place in a wood-paneled room, the couple signing the marriage register before the officiant while a young boy in a blue suit stood witness with the certificate tube. Nana wore an off-shoulder satin gown with voluminous sleeves and a long veil; Jeff wore a blue suit that matched the witness.

The Portraits
Portraits moved to a neoclassical landmark: family groups on the wide steps, Nana’s solo bridal portraits against a dark ornate door, and the red vintage car as a prop — including the witness posed proudly at the columns and in the car.

Just the Two of Them
The couple’s session ran from elevator silhouettes to a grand staircase and a black-and-white kiss — and one perfect outtake of a young boy covering his eyes while the newlyweds kissed beside the car.
