Riggs Family Beach Portraits — Barnegat Light
There is a particular kind of family that shows up to a beach session in matching shirts with a lighthouse on the back, and they are, without exception, the fun ones. The Riggs family — eleven strong — gathered at Barnegat Light, New Jersey, on July 18, 2026, in turquoise and white, barefoot and ready.

The System
Matching outfits get a bad rap until you see them done right: one color story (turquoise, white, sand, ocean) across three generations, and every group photo instantly looks intentional. The lighthouse logo on the shirts — Barnegat Light’s own — turned the whole set into a postcard for the town the family clearly loves.

Dunes, Boardwalk, Ocean
We moved through the greatest hits of a shore session: the full group in the dune grass, the whole crew walking the boardwalk, and portraits at the water’s edge. Mixed in were quieter frames — two young couples within the family getting portraits of their own — and rowdier ones, including the inevitable moment a younger cousin gets lifted skyward.

Christmas in July
The best detail of the day: two Santa hats, produced mid-session for a Christmas-card frame. July planning, December payoff. Every family should steal this idea.

Planning family portraits at the Jersey Shore or around Philadelphia? Sunny Singh Photography keeps sessions relaxed and unposed — matching shirts optional, Santa hats encouraged. We’d love to meet your crew.
